condition: fair
make / manufacturer: Pyrene
model name / number: No v 30706
For sale is a rare, unused Pyrene fire extinguisher from the 1930s, marked with patent dates Nov 11, 1913, and Sept 21, 1915. This 1-quart pump-action extinguisher (Model No V 30706) was designed for vehicle use, perfect for collectors of vintage cars, military memorabilia, or firefighting history.
• Condition: Good with character. This piece was buried underground for many years, giving it a unique patina with light corrosion and wear—perfect for collectors who love historical artifacts with a story. The label is intact and readable, though faded, and it’s unused with original contents (likely carbon tetrachloride).
• History: Pyrene was a leading fire safety brand, equipping vehicles and aircraft like WWII bombers. Unearthed after decades, this extinguisher could have been part of a forgotten vehicle or historical site—a true buried find!
• Note: Contains carbon tetrachloride, a hazardous chemical. Buyers should handle with care and check local hazardous waste disposal options.
Measures approx. 14” tall, 3” diameter. Local pickup preferred, but I can ship if needed (buyer pays shipping). Serious inquiries only—message me for more details or photos!
