The original owner had this piece dated to the early 30s with its ORIGINAL STITCHING! from what I was told. Parlor chairs were primarily used...well..in the Parlor room lol. Parlor rooms were considered your best room in the house and was typically the first room that you would enter when you came home. The Parlor room was reserved for all your best furniture to display while you hosted your guests. Consider the parlor room a very formal room and the living room was reserved for just the family. The green and dark wood color blend just so beautifully together so I could see why they would put this chair in the parlor room. The stitching is gorgeous too with a shimmer of gold on the green.
