Whittlesey of Hartford, CT, the letter expresses Martin's appreciation for a kind note received. Boldly signed in fountain pen by Glenn L. Martin (1886-1955). A pioneering figure in American aviation history and founder of the Glenn L. Martin Company in 1912 which played a major role in aircraft development during both World Wars and later merged into what is now Lockheed Martin. A fine example of early aviation history correspondence from one of its most influential innovators. In fine condition, with a clean signature and light mailing fold matted and framed approx. 10.5" x 13.5" Martin designed and built his own aircraft and was an active pilot, as well as an aviation record-holder.
