Aloha!
Offering free solar consultations in person or via phone/text/email. We can help with new projects, servicing, adding panels to an existing system, or adding a battery to an existing system. We are also partnered with roofers to bundle roof and solar projects together with $0 down options.
Battery Rebate: If you are within SDG&E territory and currently receive your power from San Diego Community Power(SDCP) as seen on Pg.2 of your bill, we can help you apply for their Solar Battery Savings Program rebate to receive $4,725 off of up to two batteries if your home qualifies and you wish to opt in. SDCP received a $10 million state fund for program, first come first serve basis. Please reach out for additional information.
30% Tax Credit: The Big Beautiful Bill “ended” the 30% Investment Tax Credit(ITC) for residential solar ownership options Dec 31st, 2025, but not for commerical lenders. If solar ownership is in your best interest we have a new Prepaid PPA contract option that provides the same cost and warranties as if you were paying cash or financing, but instead of you paying/financing 100% of costs you would just be subject to 70% of costs. We take care of absorbing the ITC on the backend. Please reach out for additional information.
We offer every type of purchasing option available. There’s currently four ways to go solar, three of which come with no upfront costs and immediate monthly savings. Your four options are; Cash Purchase(Ownership), $0 Down Financing(Ownership), $0 Down Power Purchase Agreement(PPA), and $0 Down Solar Plus PPA*.
*Solar Plus PPA is a unique utility-provided program by the non-profit Clean Energy Alliance that does not require a credit check, a qualification process, or third party financing and is available to residential, rental, or commercial properties within the cities of Del Mar, Solana Beach, Carlsbad, Oceanside, Vista, San Marcos, or Escondido. Please reach out for more details on this program.
If you would like a free consultation to learn which program fits your situation best and determine your system costs and corresponding savings, I require a recent utility bill to effectively build your proposal and will need to ask a few questions to ensure I am proposing a properly sized solar and battery system. If you are new to solar I would prefer to schedule a time to meet or jump on a call so I can explain how everything works.
To find your bill go to SDG&E online or under their My Energy Center app and click on the Billing tab, and then Usage. Once there scroll down and click on “View Your Detailed Bill PDF” in blue text. That PDF has a bar graph on Pg.1 that shows your electrical usage over the last year which helps me determine how many panels you will need to begin with. If that’s trouble you can also take a picture of the first page of your bill. An example of the first page of a bill can be seen on the last picture from the photos above.
What should you look for when choosing a solar provider?
Finding a solar provider that you can trust is very important. A strong track record, strong reviews, and local reputation are all elements that we suggest you should seeking. The saying, “you get what you pay for” rings true in solar as it is a construction project. You will always be able to find cheaper quotes, but cheap often leads to poor workmanship, lackluster service, and continual headaches.
We also suggest being careful of solar brokers that hire third party installers, as quality control is lost when you don’t know exactly who will be working on your home.
Why choose Aloha Solar Power?
Local: Based out of Encinitas, Aloha is founded and operated by Gabe Wellsheim, a hands-on master electrician originally from Hawaii who is extremely experienced within the industry and genuinely cares about providing good customer service. We keep our sales crew small and do all training online to keep overhead low allowing us to provide competitive pricing.
In-House: Aloha is an in-house installer, we don’t hire third party companies for any of our work, meaning you know exactly who will be working on your home and servicing your system for the next 25 years of warranties.
Professional: Every member of our installation crews are certified electricians. Other install crews are almost always comprised of a lead foreman who is the electrician and then several entry level construction workers drilling on your roof and installing the panels. I’ve experienced mistakes on jobs made by entry level constructor workers from other installers when I first entered the industry, it’s unfortunately common. With Aloha you know that everyone working on your home is a certified professional, simply put you’re in the best hands possible. Aloha’s back to back first place finishes at the Solar Games National Competition, a nation wide competition based on quality, supports this, “We’re the champs!”
Quality Control: Aloha’s goal is to only service greater San Diego County to maintain ultimate quality control. Staying local for fast response times is more important to us than expanding our business to other areas.
This all means that we offer the best customer experience available at competitive pricing. Due to strong reputation and industry referrals, Aloha was hand selected by Clean Energy Alliance to be the certified installer for their Solar Plus program in San Diego. Lastly, Aloha proudly does volunteer work, recently installing a donated solar and battery system for a school in Tijuana.
Why trust me?
Below is a link to my digital business card that links to my professional reviews, my bio, our Yelp reviews, our Google reviews, our Better Business Bureau(BBB) page, our website, and short educational videos.
I’ve been in the industry for several years and have worked for several different companies selling solar in multiple states. I’ve been through the wringer working with less than stellar installation crews, using misleading proposal softwares, state wide utility changes, companies going under, you name it.
So I diligently researched and interviewed with the top companies serving San Diego to find the best local installer so that I could put my customers in the best position possible, and thankfully Aloha Solar Power stood out as the clear winner. End of the day I want to be able to rest well at night knowing my clients are in the best hands.
