Computer Efficient Legal Secretary/File Clerk (Carmel Valley)

Litigant looking for experienced computer savvy Legal Secretary/File Clerk.

We are looking for a part-time organized File Clerk to do file management and maintenance. Tasks will include electronically organizing past and current legal documents and preparing documents for quick retrieval as we prepare for trial. You may also be required to read past legal documents, organize by key word and help build exhibit list.

You will gain real world experience while assisting in preparing for a third trial in an ongoing protracted civil/business litigation dispute. Trial is set for early 2020.

You will organize paperwork according to an efficient filing system and digitize all important documents. You will be expected to protect and update files as well as make them easily accessible to colleagues. A file clerk must be organized and possess a serious understanding of confidentiality and data protection. The ideal candidate will be skilled in computers and detail-oriented. The goal is to preserve the legal records and manage paperwork effectively.

The position is paid $15-$20/hour and will be for approximately 5 hours a week. I prefer someone who is available on weekends or Fridays. You will work out of my home office.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Three (3) years legal administrative support/management.
• Two or more years of paralegal experience a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite programs mandatory.
• Proven experience as file clerk in a law office or other legal setting
• Knowledge of computer filing systems a must.
