Taylor Made Working Dogs is a high-level dog training, breeding, and boarding facility. We are hiring for one position — but if the right candidate applies, we are open to filling it at a Supervisor level.
This is a very hands-on, physical role. Most of the day is spent cleaning kennels, scooping waste, sweeping, sanitizing, hauling supplies, and assisting in the kitchen with raw food production. The right person must also be comfortable communicating with customers and third-party vendors.
What You’ll Do
• Care for and handle a variety of large working breeds — including German Shepherds, Belgian Malinois, Dogo Argentinos, Pit Bulls, Rottweilers, and others
• Safely manage dogs under behavioral modification and training programs
• Perform daily cleaning: scooping poop, sweeping, scrubbing runs, sanitizing equipment, mopping, trash removal
• Use high-powered pressure washers, wheelbarrows, and ladders for kennel upkeep
• Perform basic handyman tasks (fix gates, panels, small repairs)
• Assist with kitchen production: grinding, weighing, portioning, vacuum sealing, labeling, and organizing raw food
• Work in physically demanding environments: outdoors in all weather, and inside below-zero freezers
• Communicate directly with customers picking up or dropping off dogs/food orders
• Place and manage orders with third-party companies (vendors, suppliers, deliveries)
If Hired as Supervisor
• Oversee kennel and kitchen staff
• Manage inventory, track supplies, and place orders
• Train and guide staff in safety, cleaning, and food production procedures
• Communicate with owners/trainers to ensure smooth operations
What We’re Looking For
• At least 5 years of experience in one of the following:
• Kennel work or veterinary (vet tech, kennel manager, animal shelter/rescue)
• Agriculture / FFA / 4-H backgrounds
• Livestock handling (cattle, sheep, goats, dairy, feedlot, ranch hand)
• Equine care (farrier, barn staff, stable hand, equine vet tech, ranch hand)
• Kitchen or food production environments
• Physically strong and active — able to walk for hours, climb ladders, push wheelbarrows, and lift 40–50 lbs regularly
• Comfortable working with large, high-drive breeds
• Dependable, hardworking, detail-oriented, and able to follow instructions
• Comfortable in loud, fast-paced environments (dogs barking + industrial equipment)
• Strong verbal communication skills — confident with customers and vendors
• Supervisor candidates: prior leadership or management experience preferred
Schedule & Pay
• Wednesday through Saturday, 7:30 AM–5:00 PM
• $19–$25/hour, depending on qualifications and whether filled at Tech or Supervisor level
