This beautiful necklace belonged to my late grandmother who passed away in 1973. The cameo measures approximately one inch tall x 3/4 inch wide. It has a lovely raised scalloped edge around the cameo. The cameo is on a 16 inch chain. It's just the right size to make a statement but not overwhelm. It's not made of shell material.
