Over 20 species of bamboo palms, Chamaedoreas, that grow very well here in southern CA. Some with thin trunks (~1/2") to fatter trunks (2"+). Very green ringed trunks looking similar to bamboo. Native to central America (Mexico, Costarica, Guatemala...)
(C. adscendens, angustisecta, brachypoda, cataracturum, costaricana, elegans, ernestii augustii, glaucifolia, hooperiana, klotzschiana, liebmanii, metalica, microspadix, nationsiana, oblongata, pochulentsus, plumosa, quezalteca, radicalis, tepejilote, siefriztii, stolonifera, woodsoniana)
