I have a large solid wood desk which could double as a work bench/table. It's probably 70 years old so it's built like a tank. There is no particle board, filler material or laminate. This was built when Americans made high-quality, solid wood furniture. If someone were ambitious, it could be refinished into a nice desk. It's completely usable, but just not pretty anymore. It has three drawers, 2 side and one large middle one.
You can stand on this thing and it doesn't even flex! It's 67" wide, 27 1/2" deep and 30" high.
