Table top is Quarter Sawn Oak.....thus the Beautiful Wood Grain. Good "optics."
"Quarter Sawn": This cut involves quartering the log lengthwise, and then sawing boards perpendicular to the growth rings. It creates a straight grain pattern with prominent medullary rays (also known as ray fleck) that appear as ribbon-like or flake patterns.
It's 28" tall: top is 42" x 28" all solid oak.....Solid Glass Ball feet....I think it was made between 1900 and 1920.
Professionally refinished.......I've been restoring for the past 20 years, since I turned 74.
