Looking to sell my 2002 Ford Ranger as we recently purchased a new car. Some key points:
-Manual, 3.0L, V6
-Low Mileage (odometer: 59,000). This is because we have three cars and rarely use this truck (only for yard projects, furniture transport, etc.)
-Clean title & registration; no accidents ever
-Second owner (the original owner was my uncle so it's always been in the family)
-I have detailed maintenance records of the truck going back until 2016 (when I inherited the truck from my uncle). It has been well maintained and I can show you all the maintenance logs.
-New tires recently installed. There are less than 200 miles on the tires. Tires are Rocky Mountain HT2 235/75 R15 ($584)
-New battery at 57,000 miles (Nov 2023)
- Passed last SMOG check (Feb 2024)
- Last oil change at 58,767 miles (Jan 2025)
-Kelley Blue Book Value is $5,751 - 7,762 (Very good condition). Asking $6,500 OBO.
-Air conditioning/heating both work
In addition, I recently took the truck to be serviced prior to selling. Firestone recommended the following will need to be addressed:
- Replace Purge Valve Hose (OEM part is no longer sold by Ford; you will need to find a generic hose and it needs to be replaced; the hose is the original and the rubber has severely degraded)
- Replace Brake Fluid
- Replace Fuel Cap
These are causing the Check Engine light to appear. The light has been reset but it will eventually turn back on if these items are not addressed.
Overall, the truck is in great condition but it's old. A good deal for someone who knows how to work on trucks.
Lastly, the camper shell is not an official Ford shell. It was purchased from a mom and pop shop and painted to match the truck. When you inspect the vehicle you will see peeling of the paint on the top of the shell. The shell can easily be removed.
If you are interested, we can meet at a neutral location for a test drive and/or at a nearby mechanics of your choosing for an inspection. Cash only.
Feel free to email me if you have any questions. Thanks for looking.
