This Sienna has been converted into a wheelchair accessible vehicle by BraunAbility. The conversion process modifies the van so someone who uses a wheelchair is able to enter, travel in, and exit the vehicle as easily as possible. Without a vehicle like this, someone who has a physical limitation has a great amount of difficulty getting out and about to take part in day to day activities.
This Sienna has been outfitted with the BraunAbility XT conversion. The floor has been lowered up to 14 inches to allow a wheelchair to fit inside the cabin of the vehicle with the occupant seated. The system uses a powered folding ramp that extends and retracts for loading and unloading of the wheelchair. It also uses a kneeling system to lower the van closer to the ground to make the entry and exit even easier. All of these features are controlled by pressing one button on the remote, or a button in the vehicle. With the single button press, the passenger side sliding door opens, the folding ramp extends, and the van kneels closer to the ground. Once the chair has been loaded or unloaded, another single button press closes up the van and makes it ready to drive. The Braun XT conversion also incorporates roll and go removable seating for the driver and passenger seats for two additional positions for a wheelchair.

This van is in excellent condition and runs/drives just like it should. Every system in this vehicle in functional and in good working order. It has been thoroughly inspected by our service department who have given us the green light to offer it for sale. Having a breakdown for someone with mobility issues is much more difficult and much more stressful than it is for someone without mobility issues.
The van is incredibly easy to use. The factory key/remote entry system activates both power doors, and when the right hand door is activated, the power ramp deploys automatically. When the power door is closed electronically, the power ramp retracts first, then the power door closes up behind it. Upon deployment of the power ramp, the integrated kneeling system activates to bring the van closer to the ground and reduces the angle of the ramp which makes it safer and more convenient to enter or exit the van with a wheelchair or scooter. Again, when the power ramp retracts, the kneeling system goes back to the standard ride height for safe operation.
Other features and conveniences of the Braun XT system are rubberized flooring throughout the cabin area which provides more traction and protection for wheelchairs and mobility scooters. The integrated L track system for securing chairs, scooters, or seatbelts keeps riders and drivers safe and legal. Factory style switches installed in the van control the doors, kneel system, and ramp and look like OEM equipment. The rear seat is located in a specific area to allow for more room to move scooters or chairs, but still be comfortable for an adult to ride in. There are even dual spring loaded foot rests built into the van for those passengers.
Exterior body molded paneling (ground effects) make this modified van look great and actually enhance the factory styling. The bodywork also includes built in steps for easier entry and exit from the front doors. The Braun integrated kneeling system used a strong and very durable metal chain as opposed to the rope found in many other systems. Both front seats are designed to release from the floor with a step pedal, and are mounted on wheels for easy removal and reinstall whenever needed. The seats also include a simple to use plug system that allows you to retain all of the factory electronic seat functions.
