For your consideration we have a nice Elgin National Watch Co. Hunting pocket watch. Box Hinge, Drum Style Original Hunter Case Pocket Watch. Per data base this watch was made in the early 1890's (likely 1894 see information below). Glass has a crack. I have been able to set time but have not been able to get watch to work. This will likely need to be looked at by someone that knows these kinds of pocket watches. A unique find. Case is a Faye Montauk #1 most likely 14K gold filled. Not stamped. Serial #529288.
Movement – the nickel ¾ plate 17 jewel movement has a lever escapement. It is signed “Elgin Nat’l Watch Co” # 5145211.
Case – the movement comes in a gold plated hunter case which has a hinged inner, back and front cover. The front cover pops opens to 90 degrees when you press the winder in. The case is decorated with coin edged sides and is in nice condition.
Dial – the white enamel dial has a full set of blue steel hands. The dial is signed “Elgin Nat'l Watch Co.” The glass does have a crack in it.
