This is a vintage (1970) ALPACA FUR WALL HANGING/RUG. This alpaca fur wall hanging has undergone a process where it has been attached to a thick felt backing. Traditional alpaca rugs have a sheet of cloth material protecting the patchwork sewing. Unfortunately, as time passes the patchwork sewing stitching dries up and dissolves and then you have a patchwork of alpaca pieces that need to be re-sewn (if that is even possible). This process solves that problem as the patchwork pieces have been permanently glued to this amazingly thick felt backing. This is process is better than any other probably listed on eBay. It is a very expensive method of preservation.

NOTE:
I was a dealer in alpaca fur wall hangings in the 1970's and this is the nicest one that I have ever seen out of over 100 wall hangings. I personally went to Cuzco, Peru select my inventory. They don’t come any nicer than this!
