Antique Chinese pillow box with lock and key, also known as a pillow money box or a jewelry box, was used for storing valuables or as a decorative item.

This early 20th century lacquered box features a detailed dragon and phoenix surrounding a flaming pearl. Box decorations are in black and gold over deep green with an antique metal clasp and key. Box is in good condition, no rips or dents. Some of the gold color, mainly on the top, has worn off over time.

Inside of the box is lined with preserved calligraphy which is in excellent condition.

Box is approximately 9.75" l x 3.5" w x 4" h
