The Night Watch Etching by Dana is a limited edition art print featuring a portrait of an Apache Scout (The Yellow Coyote)/Native American subject. Signed and numbered by the artist Dana, this medium-sized print is made of paper and showcases a unique desert art style associated with the Southwest United States in artwork of Indian and Native American themes. The piece is framed and comes with a certificate of authenticity issued by Hang-Ups Art Enterprises, Inc, adding to its value and authenticity as an original production from 1980. Ideal for collectors interested in art that captures the essence of the Old West in American history and has deep cultural significance.
This etching was made from a Black & White Photograph (Still image) taken by Baker & Johnson in 1886 of Bakeitzogie, The Yellow Coyote (a.k.a. Dutchy), a Chiricahua Indian who became an Apache Scout for the U.S. Military. The photograph is part of the "Geronimo! Revered and Reviled" collection of the Arizona Historical Society Library and Archives.
The paper around the edges of the print shows wear (see photo 5), but is covered by the mat, as shown in photos #1 and 4.
