In this festive image we view a native Jamaican woman in traditional dress dancing. The poster was created in 1956 by an artist named Hayes. Unfortunately, there is no detailed information available about the artist who designed a small group of posters for BOAC. It is based on an earlier version of this image showing a propeller aircraft but this poster uses the word Jet to let the reader know that flights there are smoother and speedier. The airline travelled around the world to many destinations, the first flight to Hong Kong was carried out in 1936.The airline was operative and traveling overseas until 1974, after being merged with BEA (British European Airways) which evolved into today’s British Airways.
This is an Original Vintage Poster; it is not a reproduction. This poster is conservation mounted on board and in excellent condition. We guarantee the authenticity of all of our posters.
