I purchased from an offsite warehouse auction from the San Onofre nuclear power plant’s closure. It was brand new, unopened rolls, and no, it was never exposed to radiation.
I have decided to part it out because this high temperature, fireproof red silicone coated fiberglass blanket is usually only available in large quantities - and I’ll never use two rolls of 150’ of it.
Heavy-duty silicone-coated fiberglass welding blanket rolls protect surfaces from heat, sparks, spatter, and light slag. The silicone coating resists abrasion, water, oil, and some solvents and will not produce toxic fumes when exposed to flame or high temperatures. Heavy-duty materials typically weigh more and resist higher temperatures than standard and medium-duty versions of the same material.
