We are looking for an enthusiastic and professional individual to join our team as a Periodontal Surgical Assistant. We are a fee-for-service specialty periodontal office and pride ourselves on providing high-quality care for our patients with an emphasis on customer service, in a friendly and comfortable atmosphere. This position requires a minimum of 2 years experience in the dental field, with preference to those with experience in periodontics or oral surgery.
SCHEDULE: Monday 9-3, Tuesday-Thursday 8-5, some additional days may be available and occasionally required, sometimes at an out of office location. This position is considered Full Time and requires a minimum of 30 hours/week.
The Periodontal Surgery Assistant works closely with the Lead Surgical Assistant, to ensure seamless delivery of patient care to meet daily production goals. This includes preparing for treatment delivery, chairside assisting surgical procedures, consultations, and post-operative checks, maintenance of patient records, back-office organization, sterilization, and overall maintenance of equipment. All team members must also work cohesively and efficiently with other employees to attain practice goals.
When not required for patient care, the surgical assistant also works closely with the treatment coordinator to maintain and grow relationships with referring offices, ensure a continual influx of new patients, and increase the overall quality of referrals.
Microsoft word, excel, use of email and email attachments including JPEG, PDF, DOC, XL
Must have current CPR, California Radiology certificate, and successfully completed the 8 hour California Infection control course
Experience in the dental field and broad understanding of procedures and dental specialties

Ability to communicate clearly, accurately and effectively with a broad variety of people, including via telephone and email. Professional, business-like demeanor. Ability to recognize patients and ideally recall their names; ability to approach patients in a pleasant, helpful manner.
Must have initiative; be creative, confident, energetic/enthusiastic, organized, self-motivated; Able to work independently; Attention to detail; and Excellent interpersonal skills.

Must have reliable method of transportation for marketing activities
