"Sparky" is an awesome, extremely rare 2 door 1990 Jeep Cherokee Sport in excellent condition. 1990 to 1996 were the best XJ years and Sparky is one of the few from that era that still looks and drives great.

313,000 miles on the original 4.0L engine, still strong. 5-speed manual transmission with mechanically activated 4WD (NP231). The tranny was rebuilt a few years ago though already in good shape.

Everything works as it should except for the A/C (all lights, signals, heater, wipers, cruise, 4WD, etc).

Front seats recently rebuilt, now like new. Back seat original cloth. New headliner last year.

New starter and battery last month.

Clutch in perfect condition, but I'll throw in a new-in-box complete clutch replacement kit - Autozone Duralast pressure plate and disc, slave and master cylinders - that I bought as a spare.

Target buyer is someone who would like to eventually do a full restoration. Meanwhile, vehicle drives great as-is. No mechanical issues and almost no rust (a few tiny spots near the windshield). Vehicle has never been "raised" nor driven off road except lightly.

I recently had the vehicle repainted and had that been done right, I wouldn't be selling. But, a single-stage paint was used which is not durable. If I keep him, I'll redo the paint, buy new tires, drive him awhile more then swap in a rebuilt 4.0 engine and do a full restoration myself.

One caveat is that Sparky has not been California smogged past 15 years per being registered in a smog exempt zipcode. To pass CA smog, you'll need a new catalytic since the current one is not CARB approved. Another option - not requiring smogging to register - is to title and register him in South Dakota, which many California residents living in Baja do (I have all the paperwork).
