Responsibilities: help create and edit lively, thematic non-fiction reading passages for students from 2nd through 12th grade. Edit & organize passages from fiction & non-fiction authors.

Requirements: Must love etymons, grammar (love-hate is ok), literature, poetry, and data; be very very comfortable with Excel, very comfortable with Word (tables, formatting, and tools), and know at least one graphics editing program. Wordpress experience is a plus but not necessary.

Location & Timeframe: you will work off-site as an independent contractor (but you must available for bi-weekly meetings at our San Diego office. PLEASE do not apply if you do not live in San Diego county). We are under deadline so need someone to begin immediately. This phase of the project will take 1-2 months.

Application: please submit a list and a short biography of your FIVE FAVORITE POETS and a list and short synopsis of your FIVE FAVORITE BOOKS (fiction or non-fiction). Please submit a 250 word non-fiction writing sample, accessible to elementary students, on any of these topics: Trees that "Shut Down for the Winter" • "Animals that Sleep Through the Winter" • "Birds That Fly South for the Winter."
