I know ONE home is out there for me. I am not looking to flip, I need a place for myself to live long term. I am 67, employed and have 700+ scores on all three credit ranking services. I ran my scenario by my credit union about one year ago, they said I was good to go for about $300k then. Nothing material has changed, except another year of perfect payments, another year at the same job and increased limit on one of my credit cards, which I pay off every single month. What about a duplex? What about co-ownership with someone in a similar situation? NO HOA if I can avoid it. I am single, no kids, no pets, but feel housing insecure. Who can figure out my unique puzzle?
