California is not "banning" the use of small gasoline engines, but has passed a law, Assembly Bill 1346, that bans the sale of new small off-road engines (SORE), like those found in leaf blowers and lawn mowers, starting in 2024. This applies to manufacturers and means that new equipment sold must be zero-emission.
