BioLegend is growing rapidly! We are currently seeking several new people for our Conjugation, Purification, and Production Teams.
The Manufacturing Associate position is an important member of a team that manufactures and produces antibodies and reagents to a diverse set of research areas including Immunology, Neuroscience, Cancer, Stem cells, and Cell Biology. These positions are lab based and will work independently and perform all essential functions that related to small and large scale antibody production, conjugation, and purification. These positions require the ability to follow SOPs, complete batch records, and finish assignments in a timely manner. This position will also perform buffer preparation, glassware cleaning, and restocking lab supplies. This position is also responsible for assisting the supervisor with laboratory operations and completing production requirements before due dates.
As part of ISO requirement, this position will require the ability to optimize methods and analyze lot histories. This position will also identify and design solutions to a wide range of unique manufacturing problems.

•Perform all essential functions related to antibody purification manufacturing including centrifugation and making buffers
•Follow SOPs, forms, and batch records
•Perform column chromatography and use the spectrophotometer, UV detector, and fraction collector
•Use ERP/MRP database to execute production orders
•Maintenance of laboratory equipment and supplies
•Adhere to lab operations protocol and antiseptic techniques
•Strong communication skills
•Attention to detail
Minimum Qualifications - Education and Experience
•Bachelor's Degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, or related field
•Minimum of 6 months of relevant lab experience related to protein and antibody production, purification, or conjugation or equivalent academic experience
•Basic understanding of antibody structure, conjugation, and purification
•Ability to meet important deadlines and due dates and the ability to multi-task
•Must be able to work independently within a team-oriented environment
•Skills required: Follow SOP and batch records, prepare buffers, dilution, dialysis, centrifugation, column chromatography, use of balance, Spectrophotometer, pipetting, UV detector, agarose gel electrophoresis, use of pH meter, ERP/MRP database knowledge or ability to understand similar computer systems
•Ability to multi-task and meet multiple deadlines
Preferred Qualifications - Education and Experience
•Industry experience in protein and antibody production, purification, or conjugation
Work Environment & Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in a laboratory setting. Exposure to chemicals. Temp 65 to 80F. Occasionally need to go to cold room at 35 to 40F.
Working with hands and fingers for micropipetting and pipette aid, using a stool or step ladder to reach and load/wash various sized columns, using computer screen and keyboard for data entry.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel, or operate objects, tools or controls, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to stand, talk and hear. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
