Mid 30s couple with no kids or pets seeking Studio or Granny flat

Hello to anyone reading this post, my fiancée and I are seeking a place to move in on April 1st.
We’re a working class couple who both work in the food and beverage industry. Our budget to spend on rent is about $1000 - $1700 monthly depending on the situation.
We don’t work for the same place so we have different work schedules. This is why we’re seeking a studio / granny flat / apartment or private room with kitchen / bathroom.
We’re looking to save up some money and move out of San Diego in about a year and 2 people renting a room typically causes a lot of disruption in people’s households so we’re not particularly looking for a room in a home to rent. We are however open to hearing situations that may work for us as well as benefit you for the time being.

We’re not seeking a place in a party house, we are okay with 420 but we’re not seeking a place that has constant get together or lots of drinking etc. because the child does visit and we need a safe and clean place for them to feel comfortable.
About us:
We’ve been together for almost 3 years now. We don’t have any kids who live with us or pets. One of us does have an 8 year old who visits from time to time but the child doesn’t stay for more than a few days at a time at least once a month.
We don’t party or have night life’s even though we work in those industries. We’re actually both artists and gamers who prefer to indulge in music and film.
Our plan is to save up some money by moving in together in a small place to eventually move out of San Diego and start our family. We plan on renting for about a year.
