Hello there, my name is Matt and I have a room in my apartment available for rent starting March 1st. Moving in sooner is a possibility as well. My last roommate recently moved out so I’m looking for someone to fill the current vacancy.
Rent on the apartment is $2,300 per month — not including utilities. I’m searching for someone who’s able to split rent and utilities with me 50/50. So your portion of rent would be $1,150 per month plus half of the utilities (which is normally not very much depending on the usage). I will not require a security deposit either, just the first month’s rent.
The complex is called Heatherwood Apartments and it’s located right next to the 8 freeway entrance on Baltimore Drive here in La Mesa. The grounds are very well maintained and there is on-site laundry, a gym, a tennis court, a recreation center, two pools, and a hot tub.
The room itself will be unfurnished and you would also have your own private bathroom (detached). The rest of the apartment is fully furnished so there is no need for any additional furniture beside what goes in your bedroom and bathroom. Street parking is available until a second parking space opens up.
It’s a great little spot with an even better location — just down the street from Grossmont Center and plenty of other shops and restaurants.
A little about me: I’m a 40 year old white male, I love watching sports, going to the beach, finding new restaurants to try, and I graduated from San Diego State with a bachelor's degree in health communication. I would not consider myself to be a clean freak but I do tend to keep things very tidy in the common areas of the apartment. I’m also a pretty quiet person, usually just hanging out in my room when I’m home, and I hardly ever have anyone over visiting me.
If I’m being completely honest, I would prefer a female roommate as I’ve found that men tend to leave a lot more messes and I’ve had some issues in the past with other male tenants. I am also not interested in renting to couples or individuals with pets. Sorry. It’s just not that big of a space to have more than two people living in it.
If you’ve read this far and you’re still interested then please feel free to reach out to me and respond to this posting. If it’s still up then the room is still available.
We can discuss things further and in more detail. Thanks.
I’ve attached pictures of the apartment/ room from when I first moved in along with a photo of myself.
