This drum is just great. Over the years, I've got so many comments from non-musicians telling me on gigs how they noticed its sound. It's got sort of natural boom with a medium decay, with no muffling. I've usually only used a light damping ring on the beater head.
Why am I selling it? I'm not playing so much right now and this drum should be played, not sit on a shelf in a studio.
Anyway, it's a Pearl bass drum from around 1980 when I picked it up in Manny's Music in Manhattan. I've used it for gigs but have been extremely careful with it and it's in amazing condition. Everything is original.
