The Legal Aid Society of San Diego, Inc. seeks to hire a full-time Staff Attorney for its Housing Team. Project personnel is housed at our Midtown office. Project is high volume unlawful detainer and appellate work.
Must be a member of California State and Federal Bars. Must be able to relate to all segments of the client community and understand the objectives and purposes of poverty law. Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills evidenced by submission of original legal written work. Valid California Driver License, automobile, and auto insurance. Bilingual English / Threshold Languages (Spanish, Vietnamese, Arabic, Tagalog and/or Farsi) preferred.
Working under the supervision of the Senior Housing Law Attorney, the Housing Law Staff Attorney must have demonstrated capacity to maintain a large caseload: Interviewing prospective clients; rendering legal advice, representing clients in various phases of litigation; attending community meetings; developing positive relationships with our client communities; and developing complex litigation and/or solutions to broader client problems through litigation or other strategies.
