We are seeking a a law clerk who is great at research and writing as we are involved in some interesting and complex cases and will be receiving and filing a lot of motions.
You must have worked in a previous law firm, writing briefs or complaints. We are seeking the best of the best as we hire from within first for future openings. Please submit 3 writing samples (motions/pleadings) that you personally wrote in full (ie was not a team effort) and inform us of your hourly rate and availability. This is a part-time position, hours flexible, at this time, but subject to change to more hours in future if you like. If you prefer, this can be a project position if you have other work commitments at this time.
You should type at least 50 wpm, have very good spelling and grammar skills, and know both Word and Excel. We use Westlaw and you should be familiar with the boolean search terms in order to narrow down searches.
Our practice involves primarily business and employment cases. We have both state and federal cases and any federal experience would be a plus. We seem to attract very complex cases and if you are looking for intellectual challenges and stimulation, we can easily provide that. We have a congenial atmosphere with some brilliant legal minds.
PS In your cover letter please let us know of anything that is helpful ie availability issues, vacations coming up etc. as well as your class standing. Do not forget to mention your hourly rate.
We are conveniently located in UTC.
