This cat started coming around more often at night to eat some food we were leaving out for an abandoned dog. She was very talkative, and I was afraid she was injured. So I sat outside one night and called for her until she came out of the bushes and slowly made her way to me.

I figured out she was not injured, just talkative, and from that point forward (for about 2 weeks), she came back every night and was at our home until the morning time. She was so loving and wanted to come to our house. She even followed my husband and me all the way around the block one night when we were walking our dogs.

We took her in to get checked for a microchip and she was, but the information was 3-4 years old. None of the phone numbers or email worked, and they hadn't lived at the address for 3 years, which they were renting. I only had their last name and the address they lived at 4 years ago to work with.

I visited the address and the current tenants said the previous tenant had shown up when they were there for about 4 months asking if they had seen a cat. This gave me hope that they really were searching for this cat. I did a lot of searching on Google and Facebook and started putting some pieces together.

I sent a Facebook message to the person I thought maybe the owner, but I didn't receive a reply. I found another address close to my home and went there, but no one was home. I left a long note explaining what I was doing and hoped I was on the right track. The tenants of that home said they knew the family I was talking about and would forward the information to the daughter.

The daughter contacted me later that night and we figured out it was her mom's cat Mimo that had been missing for 3 years! She's since moved out of Texas but is driving to pick up Mimo from her daughter. I think LMD is a wonderful resource that helps many people reunite with their pets, and I am grateful for their help.
