I have four genuine puka ahell necklaces that were purchased as gifts in the 1970s, but never given or worn. THESE NECKLACES ARE AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE INDIVIDUALLY. Real, naturally occurring puka shells are rare, having been depleted by over-harvesting in their natural environmen, not to mention their scarcity to begin with. In Hawaii, a gift of one of these necklaces is said to confer good luck on the recipient. The lengths of these strands, including the barrel clasps, are as follows: 1) 16.75 inches, 2) 17 inches, 3) 16.5 inches, and 4) 17.75 inches. These sizes will fit smaller necks only, but are worn by both sexes. The necklaces with smaller shells are priced less than those with bigger shells. (The necklaces with larger shells are $45 each; the necklaces with smaller shells are $35 each. LATE ADDITION: Another necklace (not pictured, but quite nice), measures 14.75 inches. It is $30.
