This is an exquisite, vintage, hard-to-find, Mikimoto pearl brooch, most likely dating from the 1970s. It comes from the estate of a Point Loma friend of the family, who traveled extensively throughout Asia decades ago. The design depicts a bunch of grapes (represented by six gorgeous Akoya pearls), nestled in beautifully sculpted, sterling silver leaves. The circular shape measures slightly more than 1.25 inches in diameter. This brooch is in excellent conditon and most likely was rarely, if ever, worn. It is stamped K.Mikimoto Tokyo (followed by two small hallmarks) on the back. It has a stick pin fastener. The original boxes (two exterior, white cardboard, plus the red "velvet" presentation box), as shown, are included. The boxes are in very good to excellent condition. The inside of the lid of the red, silk-lined, presentation box is embossed with the words "K.Mikimoto.Inc. Ginza, Tokyo" and some Japanese characters. The attached photos, which I took with my cell phone, don't do justice to this piece. It is a truly elegant work of art and would make a lovely, thoughtful, and nostalgic gift for someone special. The price is very reasonable, so I don't want to reduce it. I am located in a private residence near the main business district in Ocean Beach.Thank you!
