I bought this 62MAS-style from an old collector, who sized the bracelet, but never really wore it after that. It is in perfect functional condition -- excellent time-keeping (about +5spd when worn), power reserve at 70 hours, bezel lines up and has the best action I've experienced on a Seiko diver, lume is typical Seiko-strong, the crown screws down with ease.
Unlike virtually every other watch I've sold or have for sale, this one does have some battle scars -- hence the price. When buying, I like to ask: 'How, in any way, does this watch differ from a brand new watch, in function or appearance?' Well, in function, it is just like new, and given the variations in Seiko out-of-the-box accuracy, alignment etc, it is an outstandingly good example. In appearance, this guy took two spills on the blacktop. As it appears on the wrist, it looks virtually like new: there are no scratches to the sapphire glass, nor to the bezel insert. The crown managed to get a ding (which I smoothed); the screw-down caseback got some scratches, as well as the downward-facing part of the sides of the case. So, as far as the public side of the watch goes, it looks near mint, as far as the part touching your wrist, I'd say it has the marks typical of a dive watch used for diving -- no gashes, but definite nicks. The only part that has other than typical wear is the bottom of the lugs -- again, nothing gruesome, but more than a surface scratch. I tried to capture all these in the photos.
The bracelet has had three or four links removed (included), and is virtually like new -- no noticeable or tangible scratches.
The nice old fellow I bought this from had a big collection, and included the wrong Seiko warranty card in the box -- for the other limited edition 62MAS -- but as he was in and out of care, I didn't have the heart to bother him to look for the right one. The original box and instruction manual are included.
