I bought this Japanese Domestic Market (JDM) Seiko brand new in March 2023 from Jewelry Pavilion in Los Angeles. Apart from faint scratches around the lugs from changing straps, one visible (from some angles, but not tangible) mark on the caseback --from when it was regulated-- and a tiny dimple on the outer edge of the dive bezel, the watch is in new condition.
All functions are excellent -- it was regulated after purchase and was keeping about +4 seconds per day when regularly worn; crown screws down smoothly; time and date-setting, winding all perfect. Power reserve (72 hours) up to spec. Lume is typical-Seiko strong.
I've ended up buying several excellent candidates (Seiko 62MAS, Hamilton, Marathon) for what was intended as a one-watch watch collection, and the range of features I scrupulously went through (legibility, versatility, accuracy, durability etc.) in buying, now make it just as hard to decide what to sell, but I've got to cut back -- if not quite down to just one! So I'm putting a bunch up, and we'll let the market decide what stays or goes.
The blue sunburst here is, to my eye, both unique and eye-catching without having that 'false-hands' glare that you can get with some dials. The bezel lines up, and has a smoother action than some of my other Seikos, but not light or tinny. The bracelet is unused, and so unsized.
I also have some FKM-rubber Tropic straps, in brown and black, if interested -- see the SPB143 listing for pics.
Here's a good video of the watch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sZEo8Vq8fMM
