Lorian Health is currently looking for an experienced Part Time Human Resources Assistant (approximately 25 hours per week)

Job Summary

The Human Resources Assistant is responsible for the administrative support of day-to-day human resources operations.

Responsibilities

Verifies all employee and independent contractors credentials upon hire or contract start date, and keeps credentials up to date. E-mail soon-to-expire staff members monthly; report non-compliance to supervisor.
Handles pre-authorizations for new employees and current employees for physicals, PPD’s/chest x-rays, Hep B vaccinations, and immunizations as needed.
Assembles new employee on-boarding and orientation kits for all hires/independent contractors.
Enters all new staff into Homecare Homebase (HCHB) system.
Creates HR files for all new employees in accordance with department standards.
Processes all new and renewing I-9’s for appropriate staff members and files terminated forms appropriately.
Ensures competency forms are received timely and complete.
Conducts orientation, when needed in San Diego agency. If requested and able, at other agencies.
Regularly, files all staff documentation according to staff member and appropriate file, in a timely manner.
Maintain and edit employee demographics in appropriate systems.
Creates and manages processes for all staff evaluations;
Monitors and process incoming HR faxes on the HR fax drive; forward non-HR related items to the appropriate department.
Completes verifications of employment.
Notifies eligible employee when they are benefit eligible and processes benefit paperwork.
Keeps current on benefit programs and is able to explain to employees.
Update benefit deduction report and submits to payroll in a timely manner.
Organizes staff to meet with AFLAC representative
Manage all company phone lists; update employees monthly with revised list.
Creates and sends out monthly birthday lists.
Keeps accurate employee attendance records, and submits to payroll in a timely manner.
Assist with Workers Compensation Administration.
Performs such other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience

High school diploma
Customer service driven with a minimum of three (3) years Human Resources experience
Experience with credentialing, preferred


Additional Qualifications
Knowledge of benefit processing preferred
Knowledgeable regarding a broad range of HR competencies and practices
Strong attention to detail
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Systems (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
Excellent phone etiquette
Good verbal and written skills
HRIS experience a plus
Able to work with minimum supervision
Able to multi-task
Ability to work under stress with interruptions and deadlines
Ability to follow complex instructions
Is flexible and cooperative in fulfilling the role obligations
Maintains confidential patient in accordance with privacy and security standards of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and other applicable state laws.

Physical Requirements

Subject to sitting or standing frequently.
