Dragon tree dracaena Draco
These trees are drought tolerant, they come from a Mediterranean climate, The same as we have here, bone dry summers and rain in the time, when established they do not require ANY supplemental watering, they are succulent, storing all the water the need until the rains come again in the trunk and the branches.
ALL of the dragon trees that I am selling are all grown from seed. The selling prices start at 1,500
NONE of the trees that I sell are rooted limbs!!!!
Some plants will grow true to form from a cutting; Dragon trees DO NOT.
A rooted limb will never
1 -grow at a normal rate, the growth rate is about 1/15th of the growth rate of a tree that is grown from seed
2 - The trunk will never grow to the size and diameter of a seed grown tree.
3 - A rooted limb will not grow and look like a seed grown dragon tree because it will only (usually ) have from 2 to 3 branches A nice seeds grown tree will have between 5 and 9 branches
4 - It is waste of time (years ) and effort to plant a rooted limb in your yard ,I guess that you can tell that I am not a fan of rooted dragon tree limbs.
As recently as yesterday (8/3/25) I have seen ads on Craig's list for dragon trees that are rooted limbs
.
About 20 years old, field grown.
Selling for 40 to 50% of going nursery prices.
