Position Title: Line Cook - The Arbor
Position Status: Part-Time; Hourly
Pay Rate: $18/hour + TIPS
Position Summary:
The Cooks job responsibilities include reviewing recipes; assembling, combining, and cooking ingredients; and maintaining a sanitary kitchen. Executes cold food production in accordance with standards of plating guide specifications. Pays close attention to the detail and presentation of each order. Places and expedites orders. The Cook also needs to communicate with front of house to ensure efficiency and a positive customer experience.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Provide all customers with unforgettable tasting experience
• Communicate with front of house to ensure orders are correct and completed in a timely manner
• Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
• Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat etc.)
• Cook food in various formats (fryer, grill, oven, etc.)
• Check food while cooking to stir or turn
• Ensure great presentation by dressing dishes before they are served
• Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen • Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
• Check quality of ingredients
• Monitor stock and place orders when there are shortages
• Clean, organize and restock kitchen
• Measure and assemble ingredients for menu items
• Collaborate with the Executive Chef and Lead Cook to prepare meals during our dining hours
• Promote and represent Burgeon Beer Co. as well as The Good Seed in a positive manner
• Stay up to date on all product offerings
• Ensure all dishes and cookware are properly cleaned
• Ensure food is served in accordance with safety standards (e.g. proper temperature)
• Required to attend all mandatory staff meetings and anniversary events (unless absence has been excused)
• Be a brand ambassador for Burgeon Beer at all times
• Have a thorough understanding of all product offerings
• Drink responsibly
• Report to Chef
• Promote and represent Burgeon Beer Co. in a positive manner
• Respond to customer inquiries
• Other reasonable duties as assigned by company co-founders
Qualifications:
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Understanding of hygiene and food safety rules
• Passion for craft beer and professional appearance required
• Must be a team player with friendly demeanor
• Proven experience as cook
• Experience in using cutting tools, cookware and bakeware
• Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling etc.)
• Ability to follow all sanitation procedures
• Able to effectively communicate with customers and staff
• Physical ability to lift up to 80 pounds
• Ability to stand, sit, bend or lift for extended periods of time
• Must be able to enforce safety regulations
• Must be able to work weekends, evenings and some holidays
• Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical incidents and emergency situations in a swift manner

Position Title: Kitchen Lead - The Arbor

Kitchen Lead Position Summary:
Kitchen Lead will be responsible for working with the Chef on administrative duties for all kitchen operations including but not limited to ordering and maintaining kitchen food and supply inventory, maintaining a clean working environment, maintaining short turnaround for food and ensuring quality standards are consistently upheld. Furthermore, the Kitchen Lead of the Arbor is responsible for maintaining the highest professional food quality and hygiene standards throughout the operation.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Kitchen Lead will report to Arbor Chef; Chef will have final authority on kitchen decisions as necessary.
Maintain a positive and productive work environment for all kitchen staff.
Helps to create an open line of communication between kitchen staff and front of house.
The Kitchen Lead evaluates food products to ensure that company quality and safety standards are consistently attained.
The Kitchen Lead will be responsible for helping create weekly specials with the Arbor Chef.
The Kitchen Lead will work with Chef to maintain a clean, safe and sanitary kitchen.
The Kitchen Lead implements standards to minimize waste.
Kitchen Lead works with Chef to approve all food and supply orders, and can place orders in Chef’s absence or as needed.
Kitchen Lead works with the Chef to maintain accurate inventory.
The Kitchen Lead will provide all customers with an unforgettable tasting experience.
The Kitchen Lead will always promote and represent Burgeon Beer Co. in a positive manner.
The Kitchen Lead will stay up to date on all Burgeon Beer Co food and beer offerings.
The Kitchen Lead will communicate any escalated issues or grievances to Arbor Chef or Managers.
Kitchen Lead will be responsible for customer interactions (i.e. table touches) to help create a more comprehensive and positive dining experience.
Kitchen Lead will communicate any updates, specials and/or 86’ed items with manager or lead for the day prior to opening or shift in order to assist in maintaining high level service principles in accordance with established standards.
The Kitchen Lead will establish and maintain a regular cleaning and maintenance schedule for all kitchen areas and all kitchen equipment.
Kitchen Lead is prepared to cook food in various formats: fryer, grill, oven etc..

Qualifications:
Must be at least 21 years of age
Minimum two years of kitchen experience preferred
Passion for Food and Craft Beer
Professional appearance required
