* This is a mixer designed to last a lifetime.
* Backed by Yamaha's high quality and reliable electronics (when used properly).
* 10 flexible inputs + FX channel (see below for details).
* 5 outputs + 3 mixing channels (see below for details).
* USB in/out 192kHz with loopback function (see below for details).
* Effects box and channel.
* Led bars indicating the PFL/Master level.
* This is the fader model, making it easier and better to set channels volumes.
==== INPUTS ====
* 4 inputs use the "smart" XLR/jack hybrid plug to save space. (They look like traditional XLR but the center is also a standard guitar/phone jack). These 4 inputs feature functions for music sources:
* Mic/low impedance 26 dB boost
* Hum remover/80 Hz high pass filter
* 48V phantom
* PreAmp/Gain knob
* 3 band equalizer
* Compressor (channels 1 & 2 only, suited for voice and mic-based guitar/instrument capture)
* 4 inputs use jack inputs/RCA and are for stereo signals (e.g. keyboards, guitar effects processors, VCR, etc)
* 2 inputs use jack inputs/PC
====== Outputs =====
* Separate XLR and jack outputs for the stereo mix (main mix)
* Headphone jack for the monitor mix
* Jack output for the monitor mix
* PFL on headphones / monitors
==== Other notes ====
* 24 high quality effects with parameter knob + amount knob for each channel (only 1 effect at a time).
* No drivers needed, just plug and play into a computer, Windows and Mac.
* Requires 1 A/C plug available, the USB connection is for audio only. Cannot be powered by any PC via USB.
* Works independent of a PC, as a traditional mixer.
* The loopback feature allows to record sound from the computer. This is very useful on Macs, where due to its hardware design, it is not easy to capture the audio from apps (the traditional solution to this on Macs is to buy software that emulates a hardware output and then does the loopback function, but it takes cycles from the Mac's CPU). This loopback allows you to e.g. play background tracks in your PC where you are also recording, mix it back with your play (e.g. voice and guitar), and send it all back to the computer.
This was my favorite mixer for a long while even tho it takes significant real state space in your work area, it is very versatile. Im currently not playing on any band nor recording/producing anything so its been sitting there for a while now.
Includes obviously the original A/C adapter but the mixer DID NOT include a USB cable so I will include one of my own.
