Selling my Kenleigh decoders. It is rare to find these for sale. These are modified Dynaco decoders that use the Hafler circuit to provide audiophile quality surround sound. These are passive matrix decoders, so they do not invoice any active processing or channel steering. Thus, you can have the best of both words with audiophile quality 2 channel (or ambient surround) and home theater in one system. You do not need a HT receiver in the signal path.

The decoders are modified to provide volume controls for the center and rear speakers (which is a limitation of the original design), as well as line level outputs (to allow connection to dedicated amplifiers for the center and rear speakers) and a subwoofer line out (for connection to a powered sub or sub amp.

Kenleigh was a local audio visionary with an early embrace of surround sound. He built and sold speakers for multichannel audio - fronts, centers, rear, subs - in many configurations, and did customized installations for homes and businesses - including aerobic studios. He really disliked HT processors, and thus built these units for his customers for their systems. I started with the QD-1 and upgraded to the QD-2, but am now changing my space to 2-channel.

This is a great opportunity for someone interested in building a surround system or looking for a less fatiguing surround sound. $140 for either unit.
