I have 10 years of experience with Premiere Pro. I'm switching to Final Cut Pro.
I have a Macbook M3
I like to hire an expert to show me what to do rather than watch hours of youtube tutorials.
Goal: a repeatable workflow I can use to crank out talking-head videos, screen tutorials, multicam interviews, and social shorts without editing bottlenecks.
What we’ll cover (must-have skills):
Library/Event structure for scalable projects
Import discipline: proxies vs optimized, storage locations, roles on import
Fast editing: JKL scrubbing, auditions, connected clips, trimming like a pro
Audio: dialogue chain (compressor/loudness/limiter), music ducking, stems via Roles
Color: LOG/LUTs, HDR→SDR mapping, adjustment-layer look, scopes sanity
Multicam: sync by audio, angle switching, drift prevention (48 kHz)
Export pipeline: ProRes master → H.264/HEVC presets, Bundles/Compressor
Social repurposing: 16:9 → 9:16 reframes, captions workflow, thumbnail grabs
Deliverables:
A custom FCP template library (events, roles, titles, adjustment layer)
My personal export bundle (Master + YouTube)
A 1-page shortcuts card and step-by-step checklist for my workflow
2 practice projects (one long-form, one vertical short) completed during training
Format & location:
In person (Pacific Beach, 92109)
2–3 sessions to start, 90 minutes each (can extend)
