Tonight we are putting up for sale another item from my Grandfathers estate, and what we have here is a RARE & ORIGINAL 1920's RED GLASS MARBLED HIGHWAY SIGN THAT STATES ROAD REPAIRS...TRAVEL AT YOUR OWN RISK....
Back in the 1920's & 1930's many roads were not paved and were often washed out or in need of major repair and this is one of those signs indicating caution should be used when using these roads...... Most of the early road signs either used clear glass or red marbles for reflection and were made of steel...
Where the later road signs used plastic reflectors. and now most road signs only use a reflective paint , and are now made of aluminum..... The Steel Sign measures just right at 18 inches wide X 18 inches long and would just make an AWESOME addition to any Street Sign Collection..... The new owner is welcome to pick this sign up at my home in Hemet, Calif. ...as there will be no shipping on this sign....
