Fantastic condition one-of-a-kind vintage (1930s?) double-sided all-wood sign from San Diego's own past history: "McMahon Signs" "SINCE 1924." 39" wide, 22" tall.
Telephone book business advertisement section imaged from January 2, 1955 San Diego County Telephone Directory displays art identical to the sign that once hung at Mr. Thomas (wife Helen T.) L. McMahon's now demolished Hillcrest shop at 4th Av. and Thorn Street.
Sign acquired in the early 1970's when his shop closed, which had by then been relocated to El Cajon Blvd.
Unique conversation-starter with local history that's had many, many admirers over the decades.
