Xclnt condition. Navajo Woman, Beautiful soft matte glaze. Sorry for poor low lighting issues in pix, and the brighter picture is a little too bright. Very pretty in person. Collector item.
Jack Black is a famous Navajo artist from Sedona, Arizona (deceased 2002) known for pure and simplicity of lines.
Each piece began by sketch drawing, then raw clay to create the original sculpture from which production molds were formed.
The figures were then cast, sanded, detailed, fired to bisque and then glazed and refired.
This entire process was done by hand, making each sculpture different and unique.
Most of his original molds are destroyed.
11" inches high and 7 1/4 "inches wide. Gorgeous accent piece, Native American art.
