A entrepreneurial business consulting firm in central San Diego is seeking a solid senior accountant to join their firm. Ideal candidate will have a strong accounting background, solid knowledge of GAAP and an upbeat outgoing personality who enjoys working in the accounting field. Looking for someone that is looking to help grow the firm, create financial opportunities for themselves and is very driven to success and do their best. An entrepreneurial candidate would see the opportunity for growth in the firm and maybe eligible for partnership opportunities based on performance of growth of the firm.

The ideal candidate will manage the day-to-day operations of the accounting and tax area. This individual will be responsible for the following:

• Assist with the annual audit process including the draft of the financial statements and related notes
• Conduct monthly and periodic bank reconciliations of all accounts to ensure their accuracy by downloading bank transactions
• Develops system to account for financial transactions by establishing a chart of accounts for each client
• Ensuring compliance with state and federal regulatory requirements for each client
• Maintain an orderly accounting filing system
• Process accounts receivable/payable and handle payroll in a timely manner
• Research and analyze expense variances for company management
• Review business transactions are reported in accordance with GAAP
• Review client financial situation and offer solutions to help grow the business
• Work closely with team members to assist with the month-end close
• Work directly with CFO to manage a portfolio of accounting clients

• Develop and manage tax return process and procedures
• Direct and administer the tax-return pipeline
• Prepare tax forms with review by Principal Director

• Willing and able to upsell and cross sell products and services
• Ability to create additional income opportunities with approval from Principle Partner
• Open to receiving additional income opportunities by completing specific licensing requirements

• Work with Operations to ensure all client information is up to date
• Assist in training interns, bookkeepers, and temporary help
• Answer phones, review mail and keep office maintained
• Other duties as assigned


To be successful in this position the following qualifications are required:
• Full communication skills in Spanish and English languages
• Bachelor's (or in the process of getting a) Degree in Accounting
• Two to three years of experience
• Dependable
• Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Strong knowledge of Quickbooks or other accounting program
• Strong knowledge of ProSeries Tax Software
• Knowledge of State and Federal Tax Laws
• Committed to a high level of customer service
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel and browsing the web
• Strong verbal communication skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships
• Exercise judgment and discretion in maintaining confidential and sensitive information
• Work independently and complete tasks on time
