We are seeking a motivated, experienced Technical Writer/Project Manager for consumer products.  Our client’s leading edge product line provides a fast and challenging environment and is an opportunity to work with a high performance team. This position is in the R&D lab. This position will assist the writing team in transforming writing documentation into multimedia output for existing online help and hardcopy in-box documentation for printer/ copier/ scanner/ fax products.<br>
<br>
Specific Tasks<br>
•	Work closely with the various teams to define and identify content to be transformed into multimedia.<br>
•	Work with the Information Engineering (IE) team to review and prioritize requests.<br>
•	Communicate results to various teams and partners.<br>
•	Defining, updating, and sharing resource plans as well as content development and delivery schedules.<br>
•	Obtain the necessary information from partners to ensure that content developers have the most up-to-date background information for their activities.<br>
•	Ensure that results are revised and delivered on schedule and to an acceptable level of quality.<br>
•	When necessary personally review, revise, and edit content and graphics for deliverables.<br>
•	Handoff content and multimedia to localization engineering.<br>
•	Resolve issues or escalate to management as required. <br>
•	Obtaining closure and provide direction to partners and resources.<br>
•	Manage change, defect, and testing cycles for all content and multimedia.<br>
•	Participate in vendor planning meetings.<br>
•	Deliver final projects to Manufacturing and software development.<br>
•	Assist in content and multimedia commitments such as usability, beta test, and cross-divisional handoffs are met. <br>
<br>
Required Skills<br>
•	At least three years of experience in content development project management in a Technical Publications environment.<br>
•	Proven experience creating and publishing content for web based support<br>
•	Experience in working with web based multi-media repositories<br>
•	Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.<br>
•	Demonstrated ability to formulate creative solutions and workarounds to ensure the quality and timeliness or deliverables. <br>
•	Experience with structured authoring using XML. <br>
•	Understanding of large company processes such as Functions, Product Life Cycle, Product Development.<br>
•	Broad business and technology understanding of technical publications tools, deliverables, and workflow.<br>
•	Experience with hardcopy print/publishing.<br>
•	Knowledge and background in content management and XML/SGML authoring and publishing.<br>
•	Understanding of Adobe Flash a plus<br>
•	Flexibility and openness to change as well as the ability to adapt to constantly changing priorities.<br>

Desired Skills<br>
•	Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Computer Science, English or related field or equivalent experience.<br>
•	Demonstrated experience with localization processes and workflow.<br>

Job Description<br>
<br>
The Web Content Manager will be responsible to work collaboratively with the marketing and IT department on technical considerations and issues pertaining to the site. He/she will be selecting and enhancing fresh, audience-focused content for online presentation, as well as preparing and editing text. In coordination with the marketing department, he/she will be writing compelling catalogs, teasers and heritage summaries.<br>
 <br>
The Website Content Manager will also work collaboratively with other employees and vendors on developing site content including creating editorial/historical articles and features, but could also direct, manage and edit photographic, graphic and video content. He/she will promote our products by any means possible; in a variety of media types like blogs, podcasts, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Digg, Del.icio.us, Flickr etc.<br>

The Website Content Manager will work within and continually evolve the website, and will be responsible for directing overarching and ongoing website evolution, implementation, and maintenance. Additionally, future projects might include the planning, coordination, and execution of the website redesign. <br>

Performs other duties as assigned by management.<br>

This is an intern/part-time position growing into a full-time position: M-F,  20 - 30 hours.<br>

Job Requirements<br>

•	BA degree in Graphics Arts, Web Design, Content Management, or Information Management; or a Bachelors degree in Journalism, Public Relations, Mass Communications, English or a related field<br>
•	1-2 years in multimedia development or related field. <br>
•	A minimum of 1 year experience within a communications-intensive setting<br>
•	A minimum of 2 years experience of online content development and website administration<br>
•	Proven copywriting, editing and proofreading skills specific to an online environment<br>
•	HTML/CSS editing skills are a must.<br>
•	Understanding of web sites and creating web content<br>
•	Experience working collaboratively as part of a small team<br>
•	Excellent interpersonal and oral communication skills <br>
•	Ability to work in a team fostered environment<br>
•	Ability to work in multi-tasked environment<br>
•	Ability to prioritize and organize work<br>

Computer Skills<br>
<br>
1.	Experience and familiar with graphics development and editing tools such as Adobe Acrobat, Photoshop and Illustrator, Fireworks, InDesign, and web design packages, etc.<br>
2.	Experience with an enterprise content management system (such as RedDot)<br>
3.	Web development and editing skills, such as (X)HTML, XML, CSS, JavaScript, Flash, Dreamweaver, and Lotus Notes<br>
4.	Experience with Web technology, publication manuals, and Web page template generation<br>
5.	User knowledge of SEO and SEM is a plus<br>
6.	Intermediate to advance user knowledge of MS Office 2007<br>
7.	Able to adapt quickly to our personalized sales software (database)<br>

- Translators will be responsible for translating professional materials, such as technology, science, marketing, product introduction. Prior translation experience would be highly preferred. <br>
- Translators will also use a "Style Guide" to ensure compliance for all work projects. Translators will be tested and trained to ensure compliance with the Style Guide.  <br>
- Translators may also be responsible for translating written test into the English or one of the languages set forth above. Translators must be responsible, have the ability to meet deadlines, professional , have a strong attention to detail and enjoy translation work. <br>
- Translators should have a world view and be up-to-date on current global events. It is helpful if you have a good understanding of the Middle East, Russian, African, China and European cultural, political and territorial issues.<br>
- Translators must be computer literate, have a dedicated computer and high-speed Internet access. All files we be delivered via email. Most files are in the Microsoft Word format and all editing is done in this format. For spell checking and research, the translator will need to be capable of performing Google searches and use an on-line dictionary and thesaurus. MS PowerPoint/Graphics skills are a plus since some files are in the MS PowerPoint format.<br>
