Software Documentation
Great Lakes Data Systems, founded in 1980, is a global market leader in Cable & Wireless Billing / Provisioning Software.
We’re looking to add an experienced Software Documentation Contractor to work PART TIME, AS-NEEDED in our Carlsbad, CA office. Successful candidate will have significant experience with software documentation, created in Microsoft Word. Initially, we're going to need several weeks worth of help but long term, we'll need about 2 weeks per quarter for various updates.
Responsibilities:
- As-needed, develop, update and maintain software documentation and related help files for our billing and subscriber management software.
- Work collaboratively with all departments to ensure clear, accurate documentation of product functionality.

Work conditions include a gourmet kitchen and a distinctly "family" environment. We're looking for a part-time, contract employee.
Qualifications:
- 5-7 years in a software documentation role.
- Excellent project management, oral and written communication skills are essential.
- In-depth understanding of technical issues, software, computer architecture, and customer service practices.
- In-depth understanding of concepts related to the cable television industry or billing services is HIGHLY DESIRABLE.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related field.
- U.S. Citizen or Green Card Holder (no exceptions!)
