Carlsbad based publisher is seeking the services of a talented and experienced freelance editor. Work from your location or ours. You must be able to meet at our offices.

You will take our existing book project to completion. This is a second volume so you will have the first book to use as a guide.

Your work will include:
Proofread and Copy edit as needed. (Copy is well written and has been previously proofed)
Check that each article has Editor’s Notes about authors at beginning and author credit lines at end.
Compile and prepare chapters into one document for designer (i.e., remove double spaces, add tabs, and check for uniform style.)
Insert text for title page, copyright page, Table of Contents, and Acknowledgments.
Double check that all Authors are included in About the Authors section, proof and check website urls.
Give Word doc to designer for layout.
Proof completed pages for style and flow; check TOC and author credit lines for page number references.

We have many other writing editing assignments when this is completed.

This is a 1099 independent contract offer.
