Job Description: Provide frequent customer technical support for incoming requests for technical support from customers and co-workers on suit of MS Access applications deployed to customers. Assist in application upgrades, configuration, data-imports, version control, enhancement testing, query building, customer deployments and upgrades. This position can advance into SQL Server 2008 administration and programming tasks.
Required Skills:
In dept understanding of relational database fundamentals
Experience under the hood with MS Access, including administration of tables, relationships, keys, data imports, or query writing
Experience with Visual Basic for Applications in Access
Comfort with math for interpretation of simple financial report calculations.
Motivation and finesse in listening and providing warm, tactful telephone customer support.
Ability to work independently and as a part of a team
Desired Additional Skills (in order of most-to-lesser importance):
Experience administering SQL Server 2008
Experience with SQL 2008 programming basics
Experience with SQL 2008 Reporting Services.
Experience with SQL 2008 Integration Services
Experience with SQL 2008 Analysis (OLAP) Services
Educational Requirements:
2+ year degree in computer science, related field, or equivalent work experience.
Additional training and education is a plus.
Microsoft I.T. Certifications (MCP, MCDBA) of interest, but not required.
