Java Developer

A fast-growing, healthcare software company seeks an experienced Java Developer. This Developer will be responsible for new and continued development and optimization of healthcare-centric applications and services. Medsphere Systems Corporation, a leader in healthcare information technology, seeks an experienced and creative Java Developer to work with senior architects, development teams and product management on new and existing software development projects. The successful candidate will work within our server/infrastructure team and be responsible for furthering the design, development, testing, and maintenance of Medsphere applications and services. A qualified candidate will have a thorough grounding in computer science with direct experience developing in Java, C#, or C/C++. Java experience is required.

Qualifications:

 5+ years of programming experience, prefer some healthcare development background.
 Strong Java development skills. Experience developing in C#, C++, or C a plus.
 Thorough grounding in object oriented design principles and design patterns.
 Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field.
 Strong message-oriented development skills (e.g., JMS, MSMQ, TCP/IP, Web Services, etc.).
 Agile development background (understanding of methodology, terms, and process).
 Demonstrated teamwork and flexibility in previous work assignments.
 Experience working closely with QA, Documentation, and Technical Support.
 Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical personnel.
 Demonstrated analytic and problem solving skills.
 Candidates must be organized, detail oriented, and professional.

Desired Qualifications:

 Experience with healthcare specific applications & technologies (HL7, FDB, Medical coding, etc.)
 Experience with web app development (both back-ends and user interfaces) is highly desirable.
 Some .NET development experience is a plus.
 Previous experience in a startup, post-startup or small company environment is highly desired.
 Foundation in Data Structures and Database server development.
 Experience in performance analysis and tuning of application server and database internals.
 MUMPS development knowledge is a plus, but not required.
