Genoptix, Inc. is a fast-growing clinical laboratory focused on a complete offering of diagnostic medical services for patients with blood and related cancers. Currently, we have an open position in our Carlsbad, CA facility for an Associate Scientist.
Summary
Genoptix BioPharma Services, a part of Genoptix, Inc., supports clinical trials through full-service hematology/oncology testing. Our esoteric laboratory combines a highly trained professional staff with sophisticated instrumentation for optimal test efficiency and quality control. We focus on providing high-level, personalized services to our clients to aid in biomarker assay development, patient eligibility/stratification in Phase I-III clinical trials, efficacy endpoints, and lab results interpretation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Note: Other duties may be assigned.
• Support clinical trial specimen testing and reporting to BioPharma Sponsors.
• Interface with internal laboratory departments and our partner laboratories to ensure completeness and timeliness of all ordered testing.
• Assist in development of SOPs and internal reports.
• Assist in development and implementation of clinical and custom BioPharma assays.
• The candidate must have an expectation and desire for providing quality work and a proven ability to comprehend and rapidly learn complex clinical and biological technologies.
Qualifications
• Demonstrated ability in molecular and cell biology required.
• Hands-on experience with flow cytometry, nucleic acid technologies, and ELISA within a clinical or BioPharma lab setting preferred.
• Meticulous attention to detail, highly organized, proficient reasoning skills in experimental design, data analysis and interpretation.
• Ability to problem-solve and work independently as well as in a team environment.
• Excellent written and oral communication as well as interpersonal skills.
Education and/or Experience
• Bachelors or masters degree in cell biology, immunology, oncology or related field with minimum 5+ years of relevant industry experience.
• Licensed Clinical Molecular Genetic Scientist (full CLS or limited license CGMBS) or California approved Medical Technologist (ASCP) a plus.
